Heritage Park rebrand takes the past into the present

As Canada’s largest living history museum, Heritage Park celebrates the changing face of western Canada from the 1860s to the 1950s.

In addition to many historical artifacts and attractions — and some of the best cheese buns this side of Saskatchewan — Heritage Park offers each visitor, from history buffs to school children, a good ol’ fashioned fun and exciting trip into the past.

Strut developed a refreshed brand and a new campaign that highlighted the spirit of Heritage Park and brought to life the full range of experiences they have to offer.

We developed a totally new approach for Heritage Park’s visual brand, drawing on the unique woodblock typesetting and illustrative styles used in travel and tourism posters from the late 19th century. Branding elements included a unique illustration style and typographic treatment to be used for all external communications.

The campaign included print and transit advertising, billboards and a completely redesigned suite of park brochures.

Strut also developed a series of dozens of icons or sub-brand logos for each of the park’s key attractions in order to highlight the wide array of park experiences on offer. We individually branded the most compelling park features in order to show visitors that there really is something for everyone at Heritage Park, and remind them of the dozens and dozens of individual reasons to return.
